The WMC returns for its 2nd appearance, this time, with 17 SCM graduates, students and teaching staff members, most of them of the CIL community. 12 works of interactive nature will be presented to engage visitors with the wonders of the machinic aspects of writing.
This event is one of the four projects selected for the HK Arts Development Council’s special funds for the promotion of new media, awarded to Linda LAI (curator) and Justin WONG (artistic director).
Most of the projects exhibited are developed from previous editions of SM2220 (Generative Literature, formerly called Writing Machine), other CIL courses and MFA graduation thesis supervised by CIL faculty. 8 of out the 12 works on display are newly completed works just for the WMC_2.
Please join us at the opening, with tea/snack reception and live performance. Exhibition will last until February 8. Meanwhile, a virtual exhibition will be on until June with open call for submission of works. Stay put for further news for submission.
The WMC_2 takes two venues — Videotage and 1a Space — at the Cattle Depot. See you and your work there soon! Our official web-site: http://www.writingmachine-collective.net For enquiry: info@writingmachine-collective.net (Linda)
