13 SCM students, a majority from CIL, are participating in an artist-in-residence program in Kaohsiung as part of the Gold Sugarcane film/video festival.
Today is their 6th day in Taiwan. Shooting has completed, and the team is now editing their footage to present their work to the Kaohsiung public before they come home next week.

Here’s some reliable info on reasonable rates for free-lance animation projects:
For TVCs, you should charge around $1,000 per second.
For general animation projects, it should be $100-400 per second based on your experience and the circumstances.
If you are not paid by second (of the length of the animation work) but by the total working hours involved in the work, a junior animator will usually be paid $60 per hour, and senior animator, $80-100 per hour.

CIL graduates Venda Lee (2006 graduate) and “7″ (2007) have just completed an animation MV for fun.
Venda wrote, “This is a new trial for me as I haven’t come close to animation before. I feel great to have this done and can continue creating something after graduate. I am still working in…, very stable…, but in return I got plenty of leisure time to do this animation.”
