SEVEN CIL-year-2 students Apple YU (leader of the group), Fanny LI, Fay LUNG , Joey CHUNG, Kaman LAM, Lydia LAM, and Millie CHIU, have been awarded the HKD10,000 worth “Creative Community: group exhibition fund” last November.
SENTENTIA, a community-based art exhibition, is the result of their 3-month planning. Opening tomorrow (see details below), the 5-day event demonstrates their ability to organize, curate, collaborate, negotiate and to think in the context of the site (an empty shop premise) and the district (Tuen Mun) they choose. The exhibition also provides the context for the seven students to articulate their thoughts on vision and visuality.

Message from the group: “「視點。點視」is the theme of our exhibition. 「視點」(point of view) is how you see physically. By looking from different points of view, you will have a different perception.「點視」(Punctum) describes how you see mentally. Even with the same point of view, because of our different backgrounds and experiences, we understand the same things differently. Through various media, including painting, photography, moving image and installation, the works examine how we perceive and interpret our world. The exhibit wishes to provide audience with various ways to look and see, lead audiences to interpret in different ways and bring new insights to them.” 是次展覽以「視點。點視」為題。「視點」(point of view)是物理的，由不同的角度去看事物，會有不同的視野；「點視」(punctum)是心理的，縱使視點一樣，我們亦會因背景或經歷的不同，對事物有不同的闡釋。透過不同的媒介，如繪畫、攝影、錄像及裝置藝術，作品探討人們如何感知和理解事物。這次展出的作品，希望為觀眾提供各式各樣觀看的方式，引領觀眾以不同的視點去理解事物，帶出新的視野。 |

新樂園藝術空間自2001年起，始籌劃舉辦「新樂園Emerge新秀展」，提供藝術新秀展演與發聲的機會。新樂園藝術空間成立的重要目標之一，即是提供藝術新藝術家另一個展演與活動的舞台。2008年「新樂園Emerge新秀展」將邁入第五屆，由第八期成員規劃，透過對外公開徵件的方式，針對徵選作品進行策展連結，期望發掘更多新興的藝術視野。
一、對象：
凡從事視覺藝術之創作者，不限形式類別、年齡、國籍及性別，皆可申請。
二、活動內容：新樂園藝術空間新秀策劃展，展期為:2008年6/30~7/27。
三、免費提供：
新樂園藝術空間場地、個人網頁介紹，舉辦座談會，以及展覽廣告刊登、ＤＭ印刷寄發與宣傳等。
四、活動辦法：
（一）送件： 1. 作品紙本圖檔5~10件（務必清晰），若須呈現局部，圖檔總數15張(含) 以下。數位影像或錄影作品(每件限3分鐘的精簡版)限PC格式之CD或DVD 光碟片（數位影像作品請提供jpg 或tif檔，錄影作品請以mpeg、 mov、 avi 的格式燒錄）一份送審。裝置作品中如有錄像影片，請以3分鐘的精簡版 CD或DVD光碟片一份送審。2.作品資料清單（格式自訂），請附上作品名稱、年代、材質、創作說明等。3.個人學經歷及展覽簡歷4.創作自述(500~1000字)5.展出/活動提案(如何呈現作品)6.其他影音資料(若有的話)7.展演活動同意書（請下載，或來信索取。）8.退件之回郵信封
（二）送件截止日期：2008年4月20日（週日）截止。（掛號郵寄以郵戳為憑，或於上班時間親自送至新樂園藝術空間）
（三）評選：2008年5月初 公佈結果
